Clare Liaison and Support Project, (CLASP) is a Registered Charity, established in 1985 and based in Clare, Suffolk.

The founders recognised a need in the local community for support, help and friendship for those living in Clare who, for whatever the reason, felt isolated, lonely, ignored and forgotten, or just wanted to establish social contacts.

The needs are basically the same today as they were back then, although these needs are met in similar, but sometimes different, ways.

The current activities CLASP provides are:

Wednesday Lunch Club

Every Wednesday in the Clare Community Centre, meet with friends old and new for chats and for the enjoyment of each other’s company.

All of these projects are totally dependent on our volunteers, without whom there would be no CLASP.  Currently, we have a total of 88 locally-based, community-minded volunteers, serving in one or more of our teams. There are no paid employees.

To facilitate all this there is a crucially important Fund-raising group too.

If you are interested in either using one of our projects or becoming one of our volunteers we would be very pleased to hear from you. Please contact either Mike Arnold, Chairman, on 07934 087 559 or Sue Rouse via e-mail: secretary@clasp-clare.co.uk.
