A Magical Valentine’s Evening in Support of CLASP
What a truly special night we shared on Saturday 14th February at St Peter and St Paul’s Church, Clare.
“An Evening of Love Songs by Candlelight” more than lived up to its promise. Beneath the soaring arches of the beautiful church, bathed in soft candlelight and gentle colour, the atmosphere was intimate, warm and full of heart. It was a Valentine’s celebration in the truest sense — music, community, and generosity coming together in one memorable evening.
A huge thank you to our very own Paul Reeves who directed and managed the whole event.
The programme took us on a journey through timeless love songs spanning generations.
Performed by a wonderful ensemble of local and professional musicians, the songs were delivered with warmth and sensitivity. There were moments of laughter, moments of stillness, and moments that simply invited us to sit back and let the music wash over us. The glow of candles throughout the church created a peaceful, almost magical setting that made the evening feel both personal and shared.
Most importantly, the event raised significant funds for CLASP.
Every pound raised will go directly towards supporting vulnerable and isolated residents in and around Clare. Through our Wednesday Lunch Club, volunteer drivers, shopping trips, and community support services, CLASP continues to provide connection, companionship and practical help to those who need it most. Evenings like this make that work possible.
We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to:
- The talented musicians and performers
- The organisers and volunteers who made the evening run so smoothly
- St Peter and St Paul’s Church for hosting
- And everyone who bought tickets, attended, and supported the event
Your generosity will genuinely help change lives in our community.
It was a beautiful evening of music, candlelight and togetherness — a reminder of what can be achieved when a community comes together with warmth and purpose.
Thank you for being part of it. If you would like to volunteer for CLASP please get in touch.
